Day of Reconciliation

Reconciliation Day is a public holiday in South Africa observed annually on December 16th to promote national unity, healing, and social cohesion after apartheid. It was established in 1995 to foster reconciliation by acknowledging the historical significance of December 16th for both Afrikaner and liberation struggle traditions, uniting them under a common purpose of healing past injustices and building a new, unified nation.
